Play Tips for Parents
Entry Step 1 Entry Step 1
1/16
Understand each child’s abilities and personality. Abilities relate to age, physical condition, and developmental stage, while personality reflects traits—some children are adventurous and impulsive, while others are observant and slow to warm up. Every child is unique, so there is no need for comparison; let each progress at their own pace.
Entry Step 2 Entry Step 2
2/16
Trust that children are able to assess risks. If a child avoids climbing ladders or rope nets, it reflects a thoughtful balance between their physical and psychological readiness. Allowing them to gradually build core skills is a vital part of growth.
Entry Step 3 Entry Step 3
3/16
To gauge the level of adventure, try participating in the play together. This not only helps you understand the challenges your child faces but also shows your unconditional support.
Entry Step 4 Entry Step 4
4/16
When children encounter difficulties, resist the urge to intervene immediately. Instead, give them time to think and choose their own solutions. What may seem clumsy or doomed to fail from an adult’s perspective could be a child’s creative idea. It’s play, let them explore freely.
Entry Step 5 Entry Step 5
5/16
Allow children to explore with tools independently. Provided that the methods are appropriate and that you are present to ensure correct usage, there will be limitless possibilities for transformation.
Entry Step 6 Entry Step 6
6/16
To check the stability of a ‘DIY’ play structure, the simplest way is to carefully test it yourself, then make adjustments, enhancements, or reinforcements as needed.
Entry Step 7 Entry Step 7
7/16
Temporarily set aside your role as a parent. Reduce interference, supervision, and advice. During playtime, respect your child’s choices and let them enjoy the experience.
Entry Step 8 Entry Step 8
8/16
Play belongs to children. Let them explore boldly and creatively—unexpected and imaginative play will naturally arise.
Entry Step 9 Entry Step 9
9/16
Children process thoughts and actions differently from adults. It is important to give them sufficient time and space to engage in repeated exploration, experimentation, and interaction—without intervening too quickly.
Entry Step 10 Entry Step 10
10/16
Allow children to freely enjoy the way they play and the activities they choose, even if these may seem uncertain or unconventional from an adult’s perspective
Entry Step 11 Entry Step 11
11/16
Break free from conventional thinking. Open your mind and broaden your perspective to embrace all possibilities in play. Really—why not?
Entry Step 12 Entry Step 12
12/16
Give play back to children by offering time and space for their imagination to flourish. Even small ideas can grow into something remarkable. You may discover new sides of your child—or reconnect with your own playful spirit. The experience is always rewarding, often full of surprises.
Entry Step 13 Entry Step 13
13/16
When you have an idea, feel free to consult Playright staff to check whether suitable tools and materials are available. Work together to turn your idea into reality through hands-on experimentation.
Entry Step 14 Entry Step 14
14/16
Rediscover the joy of play. Embrace its simplicity and purity, and enjoy some “Me Time” or “Play Time” to ease the demands of being a devoted parent.
Entry Step 15 Entry Step 15
15/16
Set aside your parental identity and become your child’s playmate. Experience the magic of play that captivates children, and show your own playful side—it’s a great way to strengthen the parent-child relationship.
Entry Step 16 Entry Step 16
16/16
Prepare thoughtfully for play, including wearing appropriate clothing and bringing your own gloves. This ensures a safer and more immersive experience, especially during woodworking activities.
